In Taranto the VII National Conference of Sports Medicine Magna Grecia and Anasmes
On October 5, 2024, starting at 8:30, the Circolo Ufficiali della Marina Militare will host the Conference on Sports Medicine, focused on the topics of sport, health and well-being. The event, organized again this year by Dr. Raffaella Frascella, will offer 10 ECM credits to professionals of various medical specialties, including Orthopedic Technicians, Physiotherapists, Pharmacists, Biologists, Nurses and many others.
The conference aims to promote a greater understanding of the benefits of sport on physical health. Regular physical activity is essential for the prevention of numerous chronic diseases, including cardiovascular, metabolic and neoplastic diseases. Recent studies have highlighted the role of sport in the prevention of Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases. Furthermore, practicing sport reduces stress, anxiety and depression, improving mood and overall psychophysical well-being, including supporting children’s development and acceptance of disability.
The day’s program will be divided into three sessions. The first, dedicated to nutrition and sports, will start at 9:30 and will address topics such as nutrition and physical well-being, pain treatment and the importance of sports in pediatric age. The second session, at 12:30, will focus on sports injuries and rehabilitation, with interventions on topics such as strain injuries and aquatic rehabilitation. The third session, “Heart and sports”, will start at 17:00 and will deal with the role of physical activity in cardiology, the benefits of sports in the elderly, as well as topics such as doping and legal protection in competitive sports.
