The age of the Vikings begins in the 8th century. At that time, the Scandinavians were developing particularly manoeuvrable longships with rudders – ideal for Viking raids. For decades they crossed the North Sea from Norway to reach wealthy monasteries in Britain and Ireland. Their proud and ruthless leaders are Olaf the White and Ivarr. The documentation explains the origin of the Vikings and describes the way of life of the notorious Norsemen.
