Rabat – The visit to Morocco by French President Emmanuel Macron is a consecration of a long-standing friendship between Rabat and Paris, said French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau on Monday.
“I am very happy to be part of the delegation accompanying the President of the Republic to Morocco,” Mr. Retailleau declared to the press following the signing ceremony of several agreements between the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic , chaired by HM King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron.
These agreements will consolidate relations between the two countries in the months and years to come, he stressed.
“I signed two important agreements. The first concerns a Declaration of Intent relating to the strengthening of cooperation in civil protection, which will allow us to develop relations and exchanges in civil security on important subjects,” he noted.
The second concerns a Declaration of Intent relating to the strengthening of cooperation in the fight against fires in natural areas, in particular water bombers and aerial techniques for fighting forest fires, added Mr. Retailleau , noting that “we are going to make great progress and because we are friends, nothing is impossible.”
