On Friday evening “The Voice of Germany” went into the last blind auditions, but also into the first battles of the season. With a mega surprise!
While Ronan Keating’s (46) team was already full, Shirin David (28) in particular still had room in her team and took three more talents with her shortly before the end: Rudy (28) from Krefeld convinced the rapper with “Unholy”. Kim Petras and Sam Smith. After his performance of “I’m like a bird” by Nelly Furtado, Moritz (37) from Remscheid decided on Shirin David as coach, as did Süleyman (25) from Lauf an der Pegnitz.

Shortly before the end, Giovanni Zarrella (45) brought Nicole (27) into his team, the Kaulitz twins Bill and Tom (both 34) snatched Franziska (23) from Cologne for their “Team Toll” in the last blind auditions.
New rule for “The Voice” battles
The battles started straight away. Shirin David had no intention of sparing her talents: “In the battle phase it becomes clear who really belongs on stage.” Ronan Keating was also ambitious: “I have never won ‘The Voice’ before. My plan is to win right here!”

However, the production came up with a rule change for the new season! For the first time ever on “The Voice of Germany”, the coaches do not have to choose one of the two talents in the battles. You can also take both with you, as long as there are nine talents in total on your team.
So if a coach lets two talents advance, he has to throw both candidates out somewhere else!

Mega surprise after the “Team Toll” battle
Marc (16) and Joel (25) started their first battles for Bill and Tom Kaulitz’s team. Joel got a four-way buzzer in the blind auditions – only Giovanni Zarrella and the twins turned around for Marc. The 16-year-old student is already an “old” show hand: he had already landed in the final of “The Voice Kids” three years ago.
After the performance of the ballad “Impossible,” Bill admitted: “I had goosebumps all over my suit. Now we have to decide right away. That can not be true!”

Ronan Keating felt the same way: “I had ‘Erpel-Pelle’ under my suit.” He was particularly impressed by Marc: “You’re 16 years old! Holy shit.” Shirin bitterly regretted her decision from the blind auditions: “Marc, I wonder who kidded me for not turning to you!”
However, when Bill and Tom announced their decision, Shirin and Ronan appeared shocked. The Kaulitz twins called out together who they wanted to take with them to the next round: “Joel!” So a “no” for Marc, who had just been so highly praised? Shirin and Ronan exchanged meaningful looks – until Bill suddenly shouted: “Stop! We’ll take Marc with us too!”

Ego number is Justyna’s downfall
Shirin had to look after a team of three, in which one talent in particular stood out. In Shirin’s opinion, Justyna (34) pushed herself too much into the foreground.
The coach was surprised at the rehearsal for the song “No Air”: “Justyna simply performed another song that I had never heard before!” This was followed by a tough announcement from David: “I don’t want a one-man show see!”

Team colleague Kevin (27) also had clear words for Justyna: “She is considerate of us, but she is more considerate of herself.”
However, Justyna didn’t let this bother her – she continued to focus on her place in the spotlight: “It’s also important to me to stand out.”
The trio thrilled the audience and the coaches. However, one talent in particular stood out for Shirin – and it wasn’t Justyna.

Kim (29) had sung both Kevin and Justyna to the wall and was happy about a place in the next round.
There was another happy ending for Lizi (19) from Team Giovanni. She also prevailed in the battles and is still on “The Voice”.
