The volume of pension plans grows 2.85% in January

The volume of assets of the individual system pension plans stood at 82,526 million euros in January, 2.85% more than in December, but 5.70% below the level registered in January 2022, according to the data provided by Inverco.

The employers emphasize that the individual pension plans contributed more than 2,200 million euros to their participants in January and that the profitability obtained amounted to 3% net of expenses and commissions.

“The positive behavior of the markets in January made it possible to offset part of the valuation adjustment registered in 2022,” explains Inverco through a press release, in which it also points out that the returns in the medium-long term of this savings option they stay positive.

Specifically, and by time horizon, the pension plans had an average annual return of 2.5% in the first month of the year, 2.7% for ten-year plans and 2% for 15-year plans.

The employer estimates a volume of contributions of 128 million euros in January and benefits of 244 million, with which the volume of net benefits for the month would reach 116 million euros.

This statistic includes a sample of 860 individual system pension plans and 7.37 million participant accounts.
