Even without their iconic and energetic front man, The Wailers continue to play around the world from their native Jamaica. On the occasion of a big tour celebrating the 40th anniversary of the album Legendthey are making a stop in Nebbiu, this Thursday, July 18.

Although only three original members remain – Familyman, Al Anderson and Earl “Wya” Lindo – they have successfully surrounded themselves with a new generation of musicians. Under the original name of the Wailers, they performed numerous concerts, made approximately ten albums including five live ones, and performed as support band for several reggae artists including Alpha Blondy. Guitar Nights offer the public a unique opportunity to see them perform their greatest hits on stage and pay tribute to the rich legacy of Bob Marley, who is still regarded, 43 years after his death, as the king of reggae. Before the performance of this legendary group, another “king” will provide the first part of the evening.

The king of flamenco

Indeed, Antonio Rey lives up to his name. In a few years, this virtuoso guitarist has become a reference in the flamenco guitar, even tracing a new path in this ancestral genre that is on the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage. His flamenco is open to the world, mixed with jazz, Latin music and even pop music.

Antonio loves everything, which is often the biggest mark. Although he doesn’t have a 40-year career under his belt, he’s already wowed the biggest names in the business with seven albums including the critically acclaimed Flamenco without borders, released in 2020 and presented at the Latin Grammy Awards. Reference.

This guitarist, heir to the great Paco de Lucia, will undoubtedly enchant the audience of Patrimonio connoisseurs with his beauty and philosophy. In particular he will play pieces from his latest album – Stories about flamingos – which was released last May, and which has its appropriate name for this artist as he writes his own in this particular style of music, born in Andalusia, in the south of Spain.

A very nice introduction to the launch this week of festivals where the big names of the guitar and the songs will be seen in turn on the stage of the green theater: from Christophe Maé to Tommy Emmanuel through the Royal Republic and Matteo Mancuso. Beautiful nights await you under the stars of Nebbiu, under the heat of Patrimonio.
