The Israeli army continues its intensive and unprecedented war on the Gaza Strip, by air, land and sea, leaving thousands dead and wounded, most of them children and women.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the number of people killed in the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has risen to 38,098 dead and 87,705 wounded.

In this context, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that “living conditions in the Gaza Strip have become ‘unbearable’ due to the mountains of waste and garbage accumulating along the roads and near temporary shelters.”

She said that “thousands are taking refuge in UNRWA schools and government buildings,” adding that others “have already begun to return due to the lack of places in other areas.”

She pointed out that “an estimated 85,000 people left the Shuja’iyya area east of Gaza City in the northern Gaza Strip, during the past week, while at least 66,700 other people were displaced from eastern Khan Yunis and Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, following new Israeli evacuation orders.”

In turn, the United Nations reported that “forced displacement forced thousands of Palestinians to leave the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, and to reside in temporary shelters among the rubble and on the beach.”

During the past hours, the Israeli army killed 5 journalists in Gaza and Nuseirat: Saadi Madoukh, Adeeb Sakr, Amjad Al-Jahjouh and his wife, journalist Wafaa Abu Dab’an, and Rizq Abu Shakyan.
