Hello everyone and welcome to this chat dedicated to the critical situation in Sudan, the scene of a war of generals for nine days.

While the armed conflict, mainly concentrated in the capital Khartoum and in the Darfur region (west of the country), has already caused more than 420 deaths and 3,700 injuries, the evacuation operations of foreign nationals and diplomats, which have started over the weekend, continues on Monday.

Many nationals have thus begun to leave the country: Americans, British, Germans, French, Greeks, Turks, Jordanians… The French army has notably evacuated by plane 388 people since Sunday in Djibouti, including, alongside the French, nationals thirteen European countries, ten African countries and three Asian nations.

To allow the evacuation of their nationals and their diplomats, the foreign capitals managed to negotiate passages with the two belligerents: General Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman Al-Bourhane, at the head of the armed forces of Sudan (FAS) and leader of of the country, as well as his deputy who became a rival, Mohammed Hamdan Daglo, also known as “Hemetti”, a general who commands the paramilitaries of the Rapid Support Forces (FSR).
