The water level in the Abin River began to decline after the threat of flooding of the Merchansk rural settlement in the Krasnodar Territory due to heavy rains. This was announced on Sunday, December 26, by the administration of the municipal formation (MO).

It is noted that the residents of the area are currently safe.

“The water level in the Abin River on the territory of the Merchansk rural settlement began to decline. The water has not overflowed the banks, the residents are safe, ”the message says.

The press service of the administration of the Crimean region said that the water level in the Adagum river in the city of Krymsk continues to decrease.

Nevertheless, added to the Ministry of Defense, operational services continue to work on high alert, since, according to forecasters on December 26, rain and wind are expected in the region.

The day before, on Saturday, the head of the Crimean region, Sergei Les, urged residents of the Merchansk rural settlement to collect the necessary things and evacuate to the temporary accommodation center, since the water in the Abin River is coming.

He noted that 18 residents had already been evacuated from SNT Zheleznodorozhnik, now they are in the evacuation center or with relatives.

On December 25, due to heavy rains, the water level rose in the Crimean region, as well as in Anapa and Novorossiysk.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Krasnodar Territory reported that a high alert regime was introduced in nine municipalities of the region, the situation is under the special control of the department.
