The water of all the major rivers of the country is flowing below the boundary line. Brahmaputra-Yamuna and Ganga-Padma rivers are receding, which may continue for the next 48 hours.

The Flood Forecasting and Warning Center informed this information in a notification on Friday (August 30).

Sardar Uday Raihan, executive engineer of the organization, said that the water in Teesta, Dharla and Dudhkumar rivers in the northern part of the country is decreasing, which may continue to flow normally for the next 48 hours.

He also said that the waters of the Manu River in the north-eastern and eastern regions of the country are increasing and the water of other major rivers is decreasing.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is no chance of heavy rainfall in the northeastern and eastern parts of the country and adjacent uplands in the next 48 hours. As a result, the water of Surma, Kushiara, Manu, Khoai, Feni, Muhuri, Gomti, Titas etc. rivers in this region may decrease and flow below the Vipatseema.

The water level of major rivers in the south-eastern part of the country is decreasing. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is not expected in the southeast and adjacent uplands of the country in the next 48 hours. At this time, the water of Sangu, Matamuhuri, Karnaphuli, Halda and other major rivers of the region may decrease.
