Nantes were beaten 3-2 at the Stade Vélodrome after leading twice.
Antoine Kombouaré, coach of Nantes, defeated 3-2 by Marseille: “I’m hugely disappointed because we scored two goals against a great team but we managed to lose the match. They had the ball and chances, but the way to take the goals does not pass. We give two penalties and on the third we defend very badly. I don’t regret my changes, I make choices compared to boys who play a lot. We have a match in four days and we have a rich bench. That’s a team, those who entered were very good. But to aspire to win a game, you can’t make so many mistakes in the penalty area. We have to learn from these mistakes because we have very important deadlines coming up. We wanted to wait for them and take the spaces. It was a choice. We managed to take the advantage twice but not to keep the score. We had too much waste with the ball, we were not technically able to do what was necessary to bring the balls up and take advantage of the spaces. Marseille is having a superb season, we need big clubs in the Champions League and given their career, it would be well deserved. I hope they will get that second place.
