The weighted average price of a new car in Russia increased by 12.5% ​​over the year

The weighted average price of a new car in Russia increased in the first half of 2021 by 12.5% ​​compared to the same period in 2020, the analytical agency Avtostat reported.

“Following the results of six months of 2021, the weighted average price of a new passenger car in Russia amounted to 1,886,000 rubles. This is 12.5% ​​more than in the same period last year, ”the message says.

At the same time, the weighted average price of a foreign car in the first half of the year increased by 14.4% to 2.2 million rubles, for a domestic car – by 11.6% to 782,000 rubles. The weighted average price of a new passenger car is calculated based on the average values ​​of the distributor’s recommended prices and sales volumes for each model, taking into account modifications, experts explained.

According to the Association of European Businesses (AEB), in January-June 2021, 870,749 new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in Russia, which is 36.9% more than in the first half of 2020 and 5.1% – compared to the dock 2019 As noted by the official representatives of the Rolf and Avilon car dealerships, the rise in car prices in Russia will continue in the second half of 2021.
