The Western Coast Military District issued a statement regarding the military operation it launched in the city of Zawiya.

She said in a statement: “The forces of the Western Coast Military Region entered the city of Zawiya as part of a military and security operation, the first phase of which, and a number of hideouts were removed, while work is underway to target other hideouts and pursue wanted persons.”

The statement added: “The forces were deployed in several locations, including: Martyrs’ Square, Khartoum Street, Abu Sura area, Bir Al-Ghanam Bridge, Al-Rukina area, Al-Hara area, Al-Shurafa, the eastern entrance to Al-Zawiya, and the areas south of the coastal area.”

The statement added: “Operations will be conducted comprehensively and accurately, with the forces emphasizing that they will not retreat until the set goals of imposing security and eliminating crime are achieved.”

The Western Coast Military District affirmed its “full concern for the safety of civilians and the protection of public and private property.”
