The situation around the DPRK became one of the main topics of the meeting between the Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security Jake Sullivan and the head of the National Security Directorate of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Korea, Seo Hoon.

Officials discussed the current situation on the Korean Peninsula, the press service of the White House National Security Council said. They also called on Pyongyang “to move to serious and consistent diplomacy aimed at the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.”

In addition, Biden’s aide pointed out the DPRK to the need to refrain from actions to escalate the situation.

He also reaffirmed Washington’s support for inter-Korean dialogue and cooperation.
