White House spokesman John Kirby commented on the ongoing efforts to negotiate a deal between Israel and the Hamas terrorist group. He noted that the American team is actively working with representatives of Egypt, Israel and Jordan to establish a dialogue and achieve progress in the negotiations. According to him, there is a “high chance” of signing an agreement.

Kirby pointed out that despite some disagreements and gaps in the deal, the American side continues to make significant efforts, believing that reaching an agreement is possible. He also expressed optimism about the outcome of the negotiations, despite the difficulties that the participants are facing.

He also responded to statements made by Israeli and Hamas leaders. According to him, publicly stated positions do not always accurately reflect the content of closed discussions held between the parties. Kirby added that real negotiations often take place outside the public eye and may differ from what is discussed in the media.
The Hamas terror group has accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of blocking a hostage deal, saying ongoing fighting in the Gaza Strip is hurting efforts to reach a deal.

In Israel, in turn, they stated that the group is delaying the negotiation process in an attempt to secure the most favorable conditions for itself.

Earlier, Cursor wrote that the US State Department assessed the IDF’s actions in Rafah.
