As Day.Az reports with reference to TASS, the competition took place at the Circuit of the Americas circuit in Austin (Texas).
Leclerc’s Ferrari partner, Spaniard Carlos Sainz, finished second. Third place went to the Dutchman Max Verstappen from Red Bull. Verstappen finished fourth, behind Briton Lando Norris from McLaren, but Norris moved up to fourth place on the scoresheet. The Briton received a five-second penalty for violating overtaking rules.
Leclerc won a World Championship stage for the third time this season; previously, the Monegasque finished first at the Monaco Grand Prix and the Italian Grand Prix.
In the individual competition, Verstappen retains the lead with 354 points, second place is taken by Norris (297 points), and Leclerc third (275). In the Constructors’ Championship, McLaren is in the lead (544), Red Bull is second (504), and Ferrari is third (496).
The next, 20th stage of the World Championship will be held in Mexico from October 25 to 27.
