The Heydar Aliyev Center in Sheki, jointly organized by the Azerbaijan Youth Union and the Azerbaijan Dance Association, hosted the “Greater Caucasus Cup 2024” art and dance competition, organizers told Day.Az.
Representatives of Baku, Sumgayit, Yevlakh, Barda, Tovuz, Agdash, Sheki and other cities of the country took part in the competition in dance and various types of arts, including academic instruments, folk musical instruments, vocals and drawing. The winners of the large-scale competition, consisting of five parts, were evaluated by professional judges.
The award ceremony was chaired by the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Youth Union, Zakir Aliyev.
“It is important to organize such competitions for children and youth so that they can discover and demonstrate their talents, to create stage culture and self-confidence, as well as to develop cultural dialogue. We pay special attention to such competitions. Our duty is to support them because they are our future,” said Zakir Aliyev
The head of the project and the Azerbaijan Dance Association, Aziz Azizov, noted the importance of the competition.
“Thanks to the participants in the competition, we see a great interest in art among children and youth in the regions of the country, a desire to constantly improve. I am confident that these youth will always and everywhere adequately represent Azerbaijan,” said Aziz Azizov.
Among the laureates of the “Greater Caucasus 2024” competition are the dance group of the Sheki Art School, Children’s Music School No. 4, Agdash Children’s Music School No. 1 named after Gabil Aliyev, the dance ensemble “Alov”, the dance ensemble “Nargiz”.
