Naftali Shisha, a long-time Hasidic volunteer with the HaTsela organization from Williamsburg last weekend saved the life of a female passenger who was with him on the plane from Florida to New York.

The incident happened last Thursday on a Jet Blue flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to New York. When the crew members were handing out drinks to the passengers about an hour after the flight started, a woman passed out in the aisle.

In response, the pilot initiated procedures for an emergency landing, but at the same time the Hasidic volunteer jumped and began to provide her with emergency aid using his skills as a paramedic.

As soon as her condition stabilized, the pilots decided to continue to the original flight destination. When the plane landed, the fully conscious passenger was taken by an ambulance that was waiting near the plane to a local hospital for treatment.
