Palakkad: A woman died after giving birth in a private hospital. The critically ill baby was shifted to the intensive care unit of another private hospital. The woman’s family filed a complaint with the police citing medical malpractice. Vineesha, a native of Palakkad Dhoni, died after giving birth.

Vineesha gave birth at Palakkad Polyclinic Hospital. After giving birth, both mother and baby became seriously ill. Vinisha was shifted to Palakkad Thangam Hospital and the baby was shifted to Palana Hospital. But Vineesha’s blood pressure dropped and her life could not be saved. The family members lodged a complaint with the police claiming that the medical malpractice at the Poly Clinic was the cause of the death and demanded action.

The hospital authorities are of the opinion that they will respond to the incident later. Vineesha, an IT engineer in Sharjah, came home to give birth. Her husband, Sijil, a native of Chalakudy, is also in Sharjah.
