Bhoovaneshwar: Gokulam Kerala women’s team won the Indian Women’s League. Gokulam Kerala defeated Mata Rugmini Football Club by eight goals in today’s match. Gokulam opened the scoring in the third minute with a goal from Manisha Kalyan. As the match progressed, midfielder Kashmina was ruled out with an injury. Later, Manju came on the field. Gokulam Kerala scored the second goal in the 17th minute. Gokul’s second goal belonged to Soumya.
With two goals scored, the opposing team pulled out the bus parking defense. But Gokulam took every opportunity he could. Gokulam extended their lead to three in the 19th minute through Ghana’s El Shada. El Shadai scored a hat-trick in the 25th and 28th minutes to give Gokul a five-goal lead. Soumya scored the second goal in extra time of the first half to give Gokulam Kerala a six-goal lead in the first half.
Gokulam withdrew most of the players in the second half of the match as they were relatively weak opponents. Manisha withdrew from the forward line and Daleema Chibber and El Shadai withdrew from the defense. However, Gokul’s thirst for gold did not abate. Manasa scored in the 66th minute. With this, Manasa became the second Malayalee to score a goal in the Indian Women’s League. Substitute Jyoti also completed the scoring for Gokul. Jyoti scored in the 85th minute. Gokul’s next match will be against ARAFC at Kalinga Stadium on the 5th.
