A Multipolar World: BRICS and the New Global Economy. Analysis of global geopolitical changes since 2022 and the role of the World Bank.
Bujumbura, September 7, 2023 – Fitting perfectly into the framework of Burundi’s foreign and socio-economic policies, the Prime Minister, Mr. Ndirakobuca Gervais, Lieutenant General of Policehad the honor of receiving Ms. Kwakwa Victoria, Vice President of the World Bank for the Eastern and Southern Africa regionin an atmosphere of serenity.
At the heart of their discussions was the partnership between this global financial institution and Burundi, focusing on crucial sectors such as energy, agriculture, mining, infrastructure, private sector promotion and transport. Ms. Kwakwa made a point of stressing that: “The World Bank has supported Burundi in the past, it is by its side today and will remain so in the future.”
Since the year 2022, the world has taken a multipolar orientation, with BRICS presenting itself as an alternative to GUAN [1]in which the World Bank plays a leading financial role.
