Raimo Vigants after the victory in the mass start: “It is a great pleasure that we managed to win the mass start this year. The ride was quite nervous, because the stick unfortunately broke in the middle of the distance, but with the help of the team, they managed to recover the good, comfortable stick during the lap, so not much time was lost. In the last finish, I tried to take a position to avoid someone in front falling, thus slowing me down, because the rain had made the corners quite dangerous, and it worked.”

As P. Eiduka admitted after the finish: “It was very nice to start at home, which had not been possible for a long time – the supporters on the sides of the track definitely give motivation and encourage. Of course, I wanted to win and went for it the whole time of the trip, but this time it didn’t work out. From the very beginning, I tried to increase the pace, and I thought that a number of athletes would gradually fall away, and for a long time I managed to set the pace, however, the competition is fierce, and this time it was a bit lacking.”
