Dr. Shaaban emphasized the depth of the Syrian-Russian relations and the great trust between the two leaderships and peoples, noting that the world today is passing through an important and pivotal stage of transformation, because it is not possible for international matters to continue as they were because the West has not succeeded in leading the world, and that this world is destined to to a new multipolar system.

During the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Watan Document Foundation in Damascus, the chancellor stressed the need to intensify work between the two countries at the intellectual and media level, because the Western media promotes terminology that suits its policy, and we in the East must have our own terminology that expresses our thought and sovereignty, so we must To be proactive in launching our terms and concepts, and to work diligently on them, and to be proactive and active, not to be satisfied with just reactions, noting the importance of an agenda that includes effective work mechanisms through specialized and effective teams at the intellectual and media level, because the war today is not only military, but rather a media war. and cultural.

Dr. Shaaban drew attention to the importance of the national identity that the West seeks to destroy among all the peoples of the world, noting that the West and the United States of America have no right to talk about humanity and human rights, while they stand by and watch the Palestinians being shot dead by the Zionist occupation.

In his turn, Naumkin stressed the importance of Syria to Russia, referring to Russia’s permanent demand in all international forums to lift the unilateral and illegal coercive measures against the Syrian people, pointing to the mutual trust between the two countries, and at the same time praising Dr. Shaaban’s participation in the Valdai Conference that was held in Moscow last week.

Naumkin pointed out the necessity of exchanging academic expertise between the two countries through institutions, which enhances cooperation and close relationship so that academic and institutional relations become parallel to the depth of political relations between the two countries.

The Russian delegation also stressed the need to find possible ways and formulas for cooperation in the economic and investment field through a full understanding of the investment laws applied in Syria.

The head of the Oriental Institute confirmed that Syria and Russia are in one row and in one trench, and that his country is always keen on Syria’s interest, pointing to the privileged position that President Bashar al-Assad enjoys with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the absolute trust that exists between them.

In response to the guest Russian delegation’s inquiry about Syria’s relationship with the Arab world, Dr. Shaaban explained that Syria will restore the glory of the Arabs and Arabism, noting the great sympathy that the Syrian people felt from all the Arab people in the recent disaster of the earthquake, which indicates that the spark of Arabism in the Arab world is still present. And that Syria is the beating heart of Arabism, and President al-Assad works wisely for the harmony of the Arab pulse.

At the end of the meeting, Naumkin stressed the need for permanent communication between the two sides and setting a joint roadmap for future work.
