Calgary ∙ The World Malayali Council was formed in Canada’s Alberta province. WMC Alberta Province received official recognition in a meeting held under the leadership of World Malayali Council Global Regional Officers.

A fifteen member Executive Council has been elected to oversee the WMC Alberta Province. Sreekumar C – Chairman, Binoy Joseph – President, Raviraj R – General Secretary, Abi Abdul Rabb – Treasurer, George Abraham – Advisory Board Chair Person, Krish Nair – Vice Chairman, Anil Kumar Menon – Vice President, Ranjith Senan – Joint Secretary, Madhavi Unnithan – Cultural Forum President, Dr. Susan Chandy – President of New Commerce Forum, Shailaja Menon – President of Women’s Forum, Dr. Soumya Satheesan – Health & Wellness Forum President, Godley Mable – Youth Forum President, Johnny Sebastian – Arts and Literary Forum President, Deepu Pillai – Sports Forum President are the Executive Council for the period 2022-24.

In addition to cultural programs, the World Malayali Council Alberta Province will work with emphasis on charity and Jiva Karunya projects, according to the officials of Alberta Province.

World Malayali Council America Region Chairman Chacko Koikeleth announced that the newly formed WMC Alberta Province will be part of the World Malayali Council. World Malayali Council America Region President Johnson Talachelur, General Secretary Anish James, Vice Chair Person Shantha Pillai, Vice Chairman Jomon Edayatil, Vice President (Admin) Mathews Abraham, Vice President (Org. Dev.) Gibson Mathew Jacob, Vice President Jackson Joy, Global Chairman Gopala Pillai, Global President John Mathai and Global General Secretary Pinto Kannampally congratulated the new province.
