The international authority of Azerbaijan is growing every day. In particular, behind the trust placed in Baku, the capital of the leading country of the South Caucasus, which in recent years has become the venue for major international events, is that the words and deeds of the Azerbaijani state complement each other. Azerbaijan already has sufficient experience in hosting international events. The global level events held in the country are rightfully cited as examples for other countries.
One of such events is the Global Baku Forum, which has already become traditional. The XI Global Baku Forum on the theme “Restoring a Fractured World,” which continues its work these days, brought together many political figures from the world in the capital of Azerbaijan to exchange views on important issues. This factor is also an example of the fact that Baku has already become one of the main think tanks in the world.
The XI Global Baku Forum is in the spotlight of the whole world. Hundreds of representatives from more than 50 countries take part in it, including former heads of state and government, as well as young leaders, which once again demonstrates the importance of this forum and the interest in it in the international arena.
On the other hand, the active discussion at the forum of the most pressing problems currently existing in the world, the search for ways to solve them, is due to the trust in this international level forum, which is held by Azerbaijan. The ongoing XI Global Baku Forum differs from other similar international events in a number of features:
– in its significance and scale it is not inferior to such authoritative events as the Davos Economic Forum and the Munich Security Conference. But at the same time it is different from them. The Davos forum addresses economic issues, and the Munich forum addresses security issues. In contrast, the Global Baku Forum is universal in nature and covers political, economic, humanitarian and other issues on the international agenda;
– Azerbaijan, which is the leading state in the region in economic development, after the historical victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, also became a country creating new realities. Today, Azerbaijan is at the head of all steps aimed at further development of the region.
If we look at the processes in the context of these details, we can confidently say that by holding such important events, Azerbaijan declares that it is a strong state, and on the other hand, through these events it conveys to the world community the realities of the post-conflict period. The words spoken by President Ilham Aliyev at the opening ceremony of the forum once again confirm this: “We are now closer to peace with Armenia than ever before.”
The head of state noted: “Never in the history of the independence of the South Caucasus has peace been as close as it is today. And this is the result of the Second Karabakh War.”
Thus, President Ilham Aliyev once again declared to the world community that Azerbaijan wants peace and stability. With this statement, the head of state also sent a message that “we have restored historical justice and international law. And now the time has come to put an end to hostility in the region.”
The XI Baku Global Forum was the first forum held in Baku after Azerbaijan restored full sovereignty over Karabakh and the elimination of separatism. The fact that in such an important period Azerbaijan again conveys geopolitical realities through this forum, in which the heads of many states and governments and politicians take part, is a very important tool for the country against pressure and provocations against it. The Global Baku Forum will produce the effect of a cold shower on the pro-Armenian circles of the West, and especially France, as well as on official Yerevan, who today are trying to accuse Azerbaijan of allegedly “preparing for war”, but do not have a single piece of evidence at hand. Because through this forum there is a very good opportunity to bring the realities to the attention of the world community. And this means another exposure of Armenia and its patrons.
In their speeches, the participants of the XI Global Baku Forum highly appreciate the role of Azerbaijan in the region and talk about the importance of regional projects for Europe. Official Baku, through this Global Forum, today gives a significant response to all pro-Armenian Western circles.
