New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday highlighted India’s economic progress, poverty alleviation and infrastructure development at the ET World Leaders Forum. He talked about the progress made by India in the last decade and the positive changes in the lives of people. The Prime Minister said that in the last 10 years, 25 crore people have come out of poverty. During this period, the country’s economy has grown by 90%. In comparison, the world’s economy has grown by only 35%. In the last decade, India has achieved unprecedented success in reducing poverty. Modi said that in the last 10 years, India’s economy has grown by more than 90%. Our economy has grown by more than 90%. He said that this is the result of continuous development which was promised. The PM assured that this pace of development will continue in the future as well. He said that this development is not just a promise, but a reality which will continue in the future as well.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the mantra of Reform, Perform and Transform has been the basis of the functioning of the government. Many important reforms have been carried out under this mantra. This has brought a big change in the lives of Indians. He said, ‘We have succeeded in bringing a big change in the lives of Indians. These reforms have improved the standard of living in the country and accelerated progress.’
Youth and women voted for continuity
The Prime Minister said that Indians have grown in confidence given the country’s achievements over the last decade. This confidence reflects a new belief in India’s development and reforms. While many countries face challenges in their governments, India’s situation is different. India’s youth and women have voted for continuity and political stability, reflecting their support for ongoing progress and a stable government.
The Prime Minister proudly said that India’s achievements have now made global headlines. Over 25 crore people have come out of poverty in the last decade, leading to the emergence of a new middle class. While the poor had aspirations, they also faced challenges such as lack of bank accounts and basic amenities. Highlighting the commitment of the Government, he said, “We chose the path of empowering the poor and this has brought about a lot of change.”
Decisions taken after the formation of the government for the third time were mentioned
The PM highlighted the decisive steps taken after the formation of his government. He stressed that in less than 100 days, the government has implemented important reforms benefiting the poor, women, youth and farmers. These reforms include introducing high-yield seeds and creating 11 lakh new ‘Lakhpati Didis’.
The Prime Minister highlighted the recent infrastructure developments across the country, mentioning important investments and projects. He said the foundation stone of the Burwan Port was laid in Palghar with an investment of over Rs 75,000 crore. Work has begun on one of the world’s highest tunnels in Ladakh. For his government, infrastructure is not just about physical dimensions but about enhancing ease of living for Indians. He also highlighted the introduction of Vande Bharat trains, which combine speed and comfort to improve transportation.
