The State Shipping Corporation of China says that when it comes to wind farms, ask bigger. According to the plan recently announced by the corporation, it is going to build the largest wind farm in the world. The wind turbines are 260 meters long and can produce 18 megawatts of peak power.
That is, a fan that stretches a little over a quarter of a kilometer. The circular area created by its three fans can cover 10 football fields.
The larger the wind turbines, the more electricity they produce. The China Ship Corporation wind farm is capable of generating 74 million kilowatts of electricity for 40,000 homes a year. This wind farm is capable of providing electricity to a large city.
