jpnn.com – Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri managed to beat the world number one men’s doubles, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty (India) in the last 16 of the All England 2024.
Competing at the Utilita Arena, Birmingham, Friday (15/3/2024), the pair with the acronym BakRi won two straight games 21-16, 21-17.
This result is somewhat surprising considering that Rankireddy/Shetty is one of the players who is currently on the rise.
The Indian duo is currently number one in the world.
Apart from that, Rankireddy/Shetty just beat Bagas/Fikri at the 2024 Malaysia Open.
However, this does not make BakRi inferior. They kept trying to appear focused until they finally won.
“We also focus on maintaining the direction of the ball from start to finish,” said Bagas in an official statement.
