“The wounded man was lying in the opposite lane unconscious”

A 25-year-old man was injured a short time ago (Tuesday) in a car accident that happened on Highway 1 from the Shapirim interchange to Ben Gurion. MDA medics and paramedics gave him medical treatment and evacuated him to Shamir-Assaf Harofeh Hospital in Be’er Ya’akov, in a serious and unstable condition with multi-system damage.

MDA medics Raziel Yusufovitz and Meir Shalev, who arrived at the scene on MDA motorcycles, said: “The vehicle with severe metal injuries was near the separation fence and the injured man was lying in the opposite lane unconscious and suffering from a severe multi-system injury. We gave him medical treatment that included dressings, Stopping the bleeding and giving medication and evacuating him in the intensive care unit of the MDA to the BH when his condition is serious and unstable.”

Eli Levinstein and Yosef Frankel senior medics at MDA – Hatzla Petach Tikva said: “This is an accident involving two vehicles, when one of the vehicles spun around and collided with the separation fence. The injured man was lying in the parallel lane at a distance from the vehicle, unconscious with multi-system injuries, and after initial treatment on the spot, he was taken to the hospital in an MDA intensive care vehicle as his condition is unstable.”

Shalom Avitan, a medic from Ihud Hatzla, said: “This is an accident involving two vehicles. With the help of other medics, I provided first aid at the scene of the accident to the driver of one of the vehicles (25 years old) who was seriously injured.”

Israel Horvitz, another medic of the Rescue Union, said: “After the initial aid we provided to the driver of the car who was seriously injured, he turned to continue receiving medical treatment at the Shamir-Assaf Harofeh hospital in Zrifin, suffering from bruises and multi-system injuries.”

The examiners of the Traffic Division of the Israel Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
