The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will come in a unique design with Sony’s innovative photo sensor

Xiaomi is expected to announce the Ultra model of the Xiaomi 12 series in a few weeks, and according to reports published on the network, it seems that for this model, the company has chosen a different approach than its predecessor. The rather detailed 3D simulations of LetsGoDigital on the back of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra reveal a round and unique design for the camera protrusion, which is different from the other Xiaomi 12 models and definitely stands out among the flagship devices.

This bulge will come with three sensors, and according to the report the main sensor will this time be made by Sony instead of Samsung as it was in the Xiaomi 11 Ultra model. This Sony IMX8 sensor will be introduced for the first time in the Ultra model and will have a resolution of 50 megapixels. Next to it is a pair of 48-megapixel sensors, one with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and the other with a telephoto lens that optically magnifies up to five times.

The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is expected to come with a battery with a capacity of 4,900 mAh, and fast charging with a power of up to 120 watts. For comparison, the Xiaomi 11 Ultra has a 5,000 mAh battery, but a fast charge with a power of up to 67 watts “only”. What also seems to be that in this model the company will give up the rear screen.

While the announcement date for the Xiaomi 12 Ultra has not yet been officially announced, Shaomi has already announced that on March 15 it will hold the official unveiling event for the global edition of the other models in the series: Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X and Xiaomi 12 Pro. It is unlikely that the Ultra model will also be unveiled as part of this announcement, and it is probably being kept by Shumi for a slightly later launch.
