The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said, “The year 2024 witnessed the highest number of settler-related incidents across the West Bank and East Jerusalem since the office began keeping records two decades ago.”
The office said, in its daily report, that “about 1,400 incidents resulted in Palestinian casualties, property damage, or both.”
He stated, “Of the 4,700 people who were displaced throughout the West Bank last year, 12 percent cited settler violence and access restrictions as the main reasons that forced them to leave their homes or communities.”
The report added, “The year 2024 witnessed the second highest number of Palestinian deaths in the West Bank since the beginning of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs’ records, after 2023, which was the highest.”
The office pointed out that “more than 480 Palestinians, including 91 children, were killed throughout the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, most of whom were killed by Israeli forces.”
The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs noted that “Israeli operations in 2023 and 2024 in the West Bank included air strikes and other warfare tactics that appear to go beyond standard law enforcement means.”
