The opposition’s struggle for legal reform is getting worse week by week, and at the same time as the protests are escalating, the opposition leaders are considering a dramatic step, the total resignation of entire parties, including those next in line to enter the Knesset, so that opposition parties will not have representation in the Knesset.

Never in the history of the Knesset has there been a situation in which an entire faction has resigned and so have those next in line to enter, and in the Basic Law of the Knesset there is no reference to such an extreme scenario, but the Basic Law states that, “The elected Knesset will have one hundred and twenty members”, so apparently the Knesset after the elected can contain fewer members , but it is not impossible that such an extreme step, if taken, will lead to the dissolution of the Knesset and the election, although it is difficult to see the threat of Yesh Atid materializing.
