The young man who injected drugs died a tragic death! Incident in Yali

A young man belonging to the Koppai police unit has tragically died due to an overdose of drugs.

The police said that three persons related to this incident are absconding.

It has been revealed that the said youth is working as an office assistant in a department in Jaffna.

Hospital admission

He went to work last Tuesday morning without eating and went with some other youths.

Then he went to a friend’s house. It is reported that he said that he was not feeling well and was sitting on a tree there.

At around 6 pm he suddenly fell unconscious and the bystanders admitted him to the Jaffna Hospital. However, he succumbed to treatment.

Cause of death

An autopsy revealed that the cause of death was drug overdose.

After this, the police are conducting further investigations.
