– This tournament was important to us because in the September classification we will meet YBL, which also participated in this cup. We wanted to see them, and we beat them by six goals, leading throughout the match. However, we cannot start from this regarding the classification, until then we still have two cup matches with Kecskemét and Szolnok – said the head coach of the Szentes VK children’s team, Tamás Horváth.
The former excellent goalkeeper added that the matches were used as practice coming from hard training sessions. For the time being, their game is still hectic, because they worked very well in one match, but there were also meetings in which they made a lot of mistakes due to lack of concentration, and because of this, they only won in closer matches. Both first- and second-class opponents participated in the tournament, the final of which was won by the team of Szentes 10-7 against the host team.
Final result of the tournament: 1. Szentesi VK, 2. Swietelsky Békéscsaba, 3. Ybl, 4. Kecskemét Sports School, 5. Ceglédi VSE, 6. Cívis Polo Water Polo Sports Association Debrecen.
