Tonight (Sunday), the Israeli youth team missed an opportunity to achieve their first ever victory at the European Under-19 Championships, but parted ways in a brutal 2-2 draw against Serbia. Ophir Haim’s side were trailing by a goal by Marco Laztic (8), but Oscar Gluch took advantage of great cooking by Dor Turgeman to equalize for the Whites (17).
In the second half, Ofir Haim made two substitutions that shifted the momentum to the Israeli side – Ahmad Salman and Ido Toklomati. The Hapoel Jerusalem striker took advantage of a mistake in the Serbian defense to push close after two attempts and set up a reversal in favor of Israel (74). The Whites recorded a number of misses and were able to close out interest, with Stefan Lekovic on the other side pinning a ball that was bounced off Glicklich’s crossbar to set up a points distribution (93).

Minute 6: Oscar Gluch advanced with the ball, avoided the guard and from a distance of about 20 meters kicked a ball that missed the frame.
Minute 8: Goal! 0: 1 to Serbia. Gluch failed to stop a sweeping break in the wing of Nemanja Motica, and the latter found in a wide ball Marco Laztic who rolled the first of the Reds between Glicklich’s legs.
Minute 17: Goal! 1: 1. Dor Turgeman shook the guard wonderfully and arranged enough space for himself to find Oscar Gluch, who scored with an accurate kick to the corner from the wide end and equalized for Ofir Haim’s gang.
32 minutes: Mikhail Ilyich hit a corner kick that passed between the team players and was stopped in the crossbar, fortunately for Glicklich who did not move.
Minute 37: Lior Glicklich slightly and it almost cost him in the absorption, but the team goalkeeper recovered quickly and managed to keep away before Laztic managed to snatch.
52 minutes: A beautiful combination of dedication in the Serbian attack ended with a weak kick by Petkovic that was absorbed by Glicklich without too many problems.
74 min: Goal! 1: 2 to Israel. The elevation to the Serbia pitch was disallowed badly and hit the crossbar, substitute Ahmed Salman was there and first squeezed a save from the goalkeeper but in the second attempt pushed inside and completed the turn of the whites.
81 min: Ahmed Salman spins a wonderful free-kick, which is stuck in the crossbar and sent off to the corner.
83 minutes: A beautiful operation by Ido Toklomati ended in a kick that was not strong enough, but accurate and the Serbian goalkeeper had to stretch his limbs and save the corner.
86 minutes: Lior Glicklich did not come out well for a corner kick, but came back in time to fend off a shot that almost passed him and went in.
93 min: Goal! 2: 2. Lior Glicklich kicked the Serbs’ kick to the crossbar, and Stefan Lekovic was there to hit the bare arc and equalize for the Serbs, two minutes into extra time.
