The forward, who came to Lithuania with his second half, was happy to join the green and whites and shared his first impressions with “Žalgiris TV”.
“I feel very good! I am happy to have reached Lithuania. It’s great to be here and start the pre-season. The flight was long, but I’m ready for anything,” asserted Mr. Mitchell.
“Žalgiris” will be the third stop of his professional career for the 25-year-old 198 cm tall basketball player. The American spent his first season outside the Atlantic in the Strasbourg SIG club, and last season he played in the Istanbul Beşiktaş team in Turkey.
“I want to grow and improve. Grow and develop and continue to build connections in your career. Experience new experiences and be able to show your talent. Show what I have already accumulated. I hope you can do that. I hope we will win a lot of matches!”, said M. Mitchell about his goals for the season with “Žalgiris”.
M. Mitchell, who has visited Lithuania before with other clubs, and who comes from the sunny state of California, remembered the weather of our country.
“Of course it’s cold here. I’ve been here several times, I’ve seen snow. I felt cold. I want to explore the country more, see beautiful places. See the beauty of nature. I want to enjoy local food. You will have to visit both Vilnius and the Christmas town”, said the player.
The basketball player, together with other players from Žalgiris, will start preparations for the season on August 21, when the team will gather for the first training session. Already on September 4 and 8, “Žalgiris” will play its first friendly matches, which will be broadcast live by “Žalgiris Insider”.
