Al Jazeera announced that Israeli forces stormed its office in Ramallah in the West Bank on Sunday and closed it for 45 days under military order.
Last week, the occupation withdrew the accreditation cards of Al Jazeera journalists in the country, four months after banning the channel from operating inside the entity.
The channel reported that an occupation officer informed its office director, Walid Al-Omari, of a “judicial decision to close Al Jazeera’s office for 45 days,” and broadcast the closure live.
“I ask you to take all the cameras and leave the office at this moment,” the officer said, according to the footage, as heavily armed Israeli soldiers wearing masks entered the office.
The channel indicated that no justification was given for the closure order.
