According to a specialist journalist, the new iPhone SE 4 and the latest iPad generation could appear this spring. He also gives a possible date.
The rumor mill about the successor to the iPhone SE and a new generation of iPads continues to simmer: Apple fans have been asking themselves for a long time whether and when the affordable entry-level iPhone will get a successor.
Bloomberg and Apple expert Mark Gurman, who is considered well-informed and reliable in his forecasts, has now made his prediction more precise: New iPads and the iPhone SE 4 are likely to be launched “by April” of this year. Gurman thereby rejected a post from the “AppleTrack” account on Platform
Gurman assumes that the new devices will be shown in conjunction with iOS 18.4, i.e. in April – even if this has not been officially confirmed by Apple and is therefore not 100 percent certain.
The iPad 11 could also be shown – equipped with the A17 Pro chip to support Apple’s AI service Apple Intelligence. An update of the iPad Air is also pending, although the details are still unclear, writes the tech blog “Caschys Blog”.
Gurman has already described in the past what the new entry-level iPhone devices will look like and be equipped with: Apple is said to have said goodbye to the home button at the bottom of the device on its entry-level smartphone. Like the company’s current smartphones, the iPhone SE is said to be equipped with an edge-to-edge display that extends across the entire front.
In addition to a changed appearance that is supposed to be similar to that of the iPhone 14 with its notch at the top of the screen, the device should also be able to keep up with current smartphones on the inside. According to Gurman, the iPhone SE 4 even gets functions that are only reserved for the company’s top devices: Apple’s AI functions “Apple Intelligence”.
This is the name for Apple’s AI offensive. Behind this are numerous applications that the group wants to integrate deeply into its devices and that are intended to simplify users’ lives. According to Gurman, the updated look of the iPhone SE should help Apple regain market share in the budget phone sector.
