On the occasion of the presence of the vice-president of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas at yesterday’s event in Zappeio, the prime minister chose to send a message to Europe about the fence on the Evros. In today’s “K” you can read a detailed report for the support provided by Kostas Karamanlis and Antonis Samaras to the government of New Democracy and Kyriakos Mitsotakis ahead of the elections. The two former prime ministers, however, also made extensive references to national issues that cannot be ignored. Apart from the criticism of today’s Europe, I single out their references to the “Prespes of the Aegean”. Karamanlis, on the other hand, said that “no self-respecting country puts its territorial integrity under negotiation” and “Turkey must understand this, but also allies and partners who (…) strike plans to divide the Aegean”. For his part, Antonis Samaras noted that “some people seem to be preparing “Prespes of the Aegean””, adding that “they will not pass”.

More and more reports in recent days highlight the “Niki” party, an ultra-conservative formation, led by Dimitris Natsios, a teacher, theologian and writer, based in Thessaloniki. Many see behind the projection a conspiracy scenario: that there is a central finger in order to cut votes from the Greek Solution.
