According to the FBU Avialesokhrana, as of July 22, 37 forest fires are active on the territory of the Irkutsk region on an area covered by fires of 42,665 hectares. This is the second largest indicator among the regions of Russia. As noted in the message of the department, 185 employees of FBU Avialesokhrana, 50 employees of the State Autonomous Institution of the Republic of Tyva “Tuva base of aviation forest protection from fires”, 30 employees of the autonomous institution of the Republic of Buryatia “Transbaikal base of aviation forest protection” are involved in extinguishing fires.

The press service of the government of the Irkutsk region clarifies: of the previously registered in a localized state on the morning of July 22, three fires broke out in Bodaibinsky and Katangsky districts, two in Ust-Udinsky and Nizhneilimsky districts, one each in Kirensky and Bratsky districts. The total area of ​​these centers is 9296 hectares. There are five newly discovered fires operating on a total area of ​​76.6 hectares: two in the Nizhneilimsky district, one each in the Kirensky, Bratsky and Ust-Ilimsky districts. In addition, there are 16 previously registered fires in the forest fund on a total area of ​​33,278 hectares: 14 in the Katangsky district, one each in the Nizhneilimsky and Kirensky districts. The fire continues to operate in the Chunsky district on the lands of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the area of ​​the outbreak is five hectares.
