There are soft drinks that are advertised as “wonderful” remedies against the effects of hangovers, a campaign that is common in the summer. The #SaludsinBulos company warns that these drinks are not effective and have no scientific support, in addition to being a false sense of recovery, encouraging more harmless alcohol consumption.
#HealthWithoutBulos Institute emphasized that soft drinks advertised as hangover remedies do not offer results from efficacy or safety studies.
Furthermore, as confirmed by the scientific work that has been done so far, there is no known effective treatment for shingles.
In particular, one of these “miracle” products, which is announced in many media, claims that it has 17 ingredients and that it contributes to the balance of energy production and the nervous system, without providing any evidence in this regard.
Ricardo Mariscal, scientific journalist and one of the spokespersons for the platform #SaludsinBulosIn this way, he said that the negative reviews are dangerous for our health, since they underestimate the harmful effects of alcohol.
“They are an invitation to drink more without control in the many celebrations that take place these days in Spanish cities with the false pretense of fighting conflicts quickly and easily,” warned the journalist.
For his part, the psychologist Carlos Sanz Andrea explains that the danger of such drinks is in the fact that they produce a false impression of recovery in the subject, thus clouding the idea that there is no safe or harmless amount of alcohol consumption.
“Don’t think this is deceiving yourself. Furthermore, in rural areas where everyone knows everyone else and they drink alcohol to make friends, it can be very difficult to control their drinking.”
Alcohol addiction
According to a scientist, the behavioral effects of “new alcohol marketing” show that there is no completely safe option, even 0.0 drinks. These may encourage use among young people or create a false sense of security.
“When they come to counseling, these people often say that they have tried all possible options and that drinking alcohol has become unbearable. “Once a subject has developed an addiction to alcohol, it is marked as a weakness in their behavioral repertoire that will always be present,” the psychologist said.
The expert explains that it is not about living in constant fear of alcohol, but it is important to stop a key aspect during abstinence: you have to know your own weakness.
Alcohol doesn’t make you stronger or help you relate better
Science still doesn’t know exactly what the causes are that cause the degenerates after drinking alcohol.
Research published in the journal Curr. Drug Abuse Rev concluded that more research is needed to better understand how alcohol affects energy production and thus obtain a more complete view of the nature of these triggers.
Since its creation, the Institute #SaludsinBulos has debunked numerous myths about alcohol that can lead to increased energy and irresponsible drinking behavior.
Among these myths are that alcohol gives you energy and helps you last longer at a party or that it helps you relate better and socialize.
“Alcohol consumption is one of the main modifiable risk factors for violence, homicide and injuries to third parties,” according to the World Health Organization.
“We must work as a society to dissolve the myths that lead to heavy drinking and build the non-existent beneficial properties of the products to combat the abusers, which lead to more and more drinking of irresponsible,” concluded journalist Ricardo Mariscal.
