There are three rescue operations in the Curonian Lagoon

by times news cr

All presenters needed help with broken down motorboats.

Given the increasing wind, there was an immediate response. The rescue areas included the Curonian Lagoon near Bulvikis rago, Kiaulė Nugara and Naglis rago.

Eleven persons were rescued, including four children.

Two adults refused to leave the boat. There was no danger to life. None of the vacationers required medical assistance.

Rescue operations increased as the weather warmed, but with stronger winds.

Igor Kuzmenko, the advisor to the head of the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center of the Naval Forces, reminds you how to take proper precautions when sailing to the sea or lagoon: “Be sure to check the weather forecast – whether there will be strong wind or fog. Those going out to sea with boats report to the Coast Guard team the times of departure and return, how many people are sailing and where they will be approximately.

If you plan to spend some time fishing or swimming somewhere else than you indicated, at least let your relatives know when you plan to return and the exact place where you will be fishing or otherwise spending time.

Think about precautions, charge your phone and put it in a waterproof case and keep it close to you, put new batteries in your flashlight, take a charged radio, life jackets not only for yourself but for everyone on the boat.

It is useful to have a compass, in conditions of poor visibility, even the simplest compass can show the direction to return to shore. We recommend purchasing waterproof suits, which significantly extend the time a person stays at sea, especially considering the fact that the Baltic Sea is cold even in summer. Having at least one flare would be very useful, especially if you’re going to be fishing or otherwise spending time after dark.”
