Los Angeles: Director Rajamouli says there is a difference between Hinduism and Hindu Dharma. Rajamouli revealed his opinion while attending a film festival in Los Angeles.

He was talking about the vintage aspects of his films during a Q&A session at the film festival. Rajamouli said there is a difference between Hinduism and Hindu Dharma. He said that his film ‘RRR’ borrows visual images and symbols associated with Hindu scriptures and the central characters can be interpreted as versions of Hindu gods.

Many consider Hinduism to be a religion, which is the case today. But before that, there was Hindu Dharma. It is a way of life, a philosophy. If you take religion, I am not a Hindu, but if you take Dharma, I am very Hindu. What I am portraying in the film is actually a way of life that has existed for centuries and ages – Rajamouli clarified.

After ‘Baahubali 2’, Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ is the film made at a cost of 550 crores. The box office profit of the film is 1150 crores. The film has been submitted as part of the For Your Consideration campaign to compete at the Oscars. Gujarati film ‘Chello Show’ is India’s official Oscar entry.
