BOLZANO. The Union of Hoteliers and Public Operators (Hgv) and the local trade unions Asgb, Sgbcisl and Uiltucs have signed the new Provincial Supplementary Agreement for employees of companies in the tourism and public establishments sector. The two National Collective Agreements, signed on 5 June 2024 for public establishments and on 5 July 2024 for hotel facilities, respectively, form the basis for the Provincial Supplementary Agreement. There are 43,000 employees employed in these sectors in South Tyrol.

“For us as HGV it was important to reach an agreement with the trade unions at the local level after the conclusion of the negotiations at the national level. We succeeded in doing so in just a few weeks, creating great added value for all employees of the catering and hospitality businesses as well as for all companies in the sector”, emphasized Manfred Pinzger, Chairman of HGV, during the signing of the Provincial Supplementary Agreement.

Of the same opinion is Hansjörg Adami, Provincial Secretary of SGBCISL – FISASCAT: “For the social partners, the negotiations for the Provincial Supplementary Agreement represent an opportunity to respond together to the needs and problems of a sector, despite the different starting points and interests. With the conclusion of this agreement, some important accents have been set.” Alex Piras, branch secretary ASGB-HANDEL/GASTGEWERBE, is convinced: “It is of fundamental importance that with this Territorial Supplementary Agreement we have succeeded in maintaining tourism in South Tyrol as a single sector and in harmonising and improving further points of the previous agreement. In this way, we have successfully counteracted the tendency to fragment tourism with separate agreements, as is the case with National Collective Agreements.”

Me too’UILTuCS Trentino Alto Adige/South Tyrolsees the signature as an important step for the future of tourism in South Tyrol. The regional general secretary Stephen Picchetti says: “The signing of the provincial supplementary agreement represents an extremely important moment for the protection of tourism workers to allow the sector to grow in a healthy and articulated way across the territory.”
