General Secretary of Awami League and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said that there is no crisis regarding people’s safety. Many are talking about insecurity because of opposition to politics.

He said this during the distribution of Iftar and Eid materials among common people at Bangabandhu Bhavan at 32 Dhanmondi in the capital on Wednesday (April 3).

The minister said that Eid shopping is going on throughout the night – no incident happened anywhere while shopping. Yet the opposition to politics speaks of insecurity. No one’s safety was compromised.

General Secretary of Awami League said that all BNP leaders have come out of jail one by one. Still, 80 percent of their leaders and workers are victims of torture. I told the general secretary of the party, Mirza Fakhrul, to publish the list of 80% of the persecuted leaders and activists. If someone commits a crime, why does BNP cry so much for those who are in jail for the case of arson, terrorism, and murder?

Regarding the price of goods, the bridge minister said that despite the increase in the price of oil in the market, the price of oil in Bangladesh has been adjusted. The price of goods is also decreasing. Today, BNP leaders talk big, Maya cries for the poor. During Ziaur Rahman’s time, many women went to Rangpur court and enrolled in prostitution due to scarcity. Forget what history!

Obaidul Quader said, those who ask why there are so many beggars in Dhaka city today, don’t shame them, they have not helped even a poor person in this difficult day during the month of fasting. Did not distribute iftar items. Had an iftar party in a big hotel with big people. And on the instructions of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina, Awami League leaders and activists are distributing Iftar items across the country.

Awami League General Secretary said that during Eid, some people come to big cities including Dhaka with the hope of giving charity. But so far there is no one who is dying in the streets without eating.

Obaidul Quader said, Awami League will not listen to BNP’s strange words. Awami League’s politics of standing by the helpless people in danger.

Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapos and Member of Parliament of Dhaka-10 Constituency Ferdous Ahmed also spoke on the occasion. Later, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader distributed Iftar and Eid items among the common people.
