High-speed train services on France’s south-eastern line have been disrupted by power supply problems, affecting 80,000 passengers.

As reported by Day.Az, this was reported by the National Company of French Railways (SNCF).

“Due to a thunderstorm overnight, several trees fell on the South-East high-speed line near the Saint-Florentin crossroad in the Yonne department. A train crashed into one of the trees that fell on the tracks,” the railway operator said in a statement. It specified that service between Paris and Lyon, as well as Paris and Dijon, was suspended “at least until 2 p.m.”

SNCF advises travelers to avoid travel in the coming hours. “All tickets issued today will be subject to exchange and refund,” the operator added.

It was previously reported that on July 26, the opening day of the Olympics in Paris, high-speed train service was disrupted in the country due to a series of arson attacks.
