The 2023 FIFA The Best Awards have been announced. This time, Argentina’s victory march was present at the award ceremony.

The best male player, male goalkeeper, male team coach and best football fans all went to Argentina.

But now Equatorial Guinea’s captain Juvental Edjogo has come forward saying that none of the football awards are important and that’s why he didn’t vote for Messi and Ronaldo.

Edjogo’s statement was made while speaking about the 2013 Ballon d’Or award. He also suggested that his vote would have influenced the 2013 Ballon d’Or award.

Ronaldo won the Ballon d’Or in 2013. Messi was second and Franck Ribery third.

“I have never felt that any of the awards in football mattered much. I voted for three stars in the 2013 Ballon d’Or. But when the list of who voted for whom was released, it did not contain the names of those who actually voted for me.

It was on the list that I voted for Messi and Ronaldo. But actually I didn’t vote for them. That’s why I say none of these awards matter. It’s worth nothing,’ said Juvental Edjogo.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has received five Ballon d’Or awards and Messi seven. Messi is also at the forefront of the list of possibilities for the 2023 Ballon d’Or award.

Reports are coming out that this time Messi and Mbappe will be competing for the Ballon d’Or.
