Former Public Security Minister and Member of Parliament Sarath Weerasekhara has said that there is no King Ravana and no worship of Shiva in Sri Lanka.

Also, 300 acres of land is found in the area where Thirukonechara temple is located.

Of this, only 18 acres of land belongs to the temple. There are about 60 shops on the way to the temple.

They also pointed out that because these shops were owned by Sinhalese, the confederates were racist against them.

The management council of the temple has expressed its desire to renovate the shops on both sides of the road of Thirukonechara temple.

He said that while the temple management council wants to give the shops to the Sinhalese, only the members of parliament of the Tamil National Federation are opposing it for their political gain.
