While Gayatri Raghuram was acting as the state president of BJP’s neighboring state Tamil development wing, Tamil Nadu BJP’s state president Annamalai had announced that she would be removed from that position for 6 months last December. On his part, it was informed that this action has been taken due to continuous actions which defied the control of the party and tarnished the name of the party.
In this case, Gayathri Raghuram has announced her resignation from the BJP. In his Twitter post in this regard, he said, “I am resigning from the party because it does not give equal rights and respect to women. There is no protection for women in Annamalai-led Tamil Nadu BJP. He also said that he is going to report all the video evidence he has to the police and that Annamalai should be investigated.
