World Kindness Day is celebrated on November 13 to highlight the importance of kindness across the world. This day encourages every kind of act done with kindness. This day is very helpful in showing how the world and its people are changed by kindness and how important that change is in their lives.

The theme of World Kindness Day 2022 is “Be kind whenever possible”. This theme was inspired by a quote from the Dalai Lama.

History
The history of World Compassion Day began in 1997 with the first conference held by the World Compassion Movement in Tokyo, Japan with the aim of bringing together compassion-based social processes from around the world. At that time it was observed in countries including Canada, Australia, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates.
Since 1998, Mercy Day has been declared annually. From that day the mercy movement started spreading across the world every year. UK (2005), Singapore (2009), Australia (2012), France (2015), USA (2018), and by 2019, the Global Compassion Movement has reached 27 countries. After a long journey of several decades, the World Compassion Movement has finally been recognized as an official NGO in Switzerland.
Through it, the importance of kindness is being spread globally every year.
